Always late. Sometimes, I keep thinking I see a white rabbit out of the corner of my eye, so I keep rushing after him, but somehow I’m still always late…
I had a very nice, albeit not very strong, time with last week’s Bout of Books week-long Read-a-thon. I managed to read 3 whole books (“Me Before You”, “Atlantis Rising” and “Changes”) , re-read some gorgeous short stories from Poe and disappear into the twisted world of the Sandman. All in all, it was a lovely week.
I’m still not too sure about such a week-long read-a-thon and me. While I adore the idea, and want to participate, I’m just really bad at reading something because I have to – which means that having a week dedicated to reading sometimes might even result in less reading than I otherwise normally would. You know, which seems to defeat the purpose somewhat…
On the other hand, I loved bouncing around to all the participants’ blogs, reading their Twitter updates and seeing their pretty pictures on Instagram, and I’ve decided that if for no other reason, even if I don’t even manage to read a single book, I will likely still want to do Bout of Books next time.
Because when it all comes down to it, my favourite part of any read-a-thon is the tea party: the time spent with a cup of tea in one hand, a book in the other, and hundreds of like-minded crazy lovely readers all around me in the blogosphere.
See you at the next book-loving tea party in April? I’ll be the one in the hat.
