“Everything is illuminated in the light of the past. It is always along the side of us… on the inside, looking out.”

I’ve always been a reader. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved the written word and the books that held them – even before I had learned to decipher them myself, I loved nothing more than to sit cuddled with my grandmother and have her read me all the magical tales.

The books I have read and especially the ones I have loved are an integral part of me. Something that defines me because it has influenced the way I feel or think about life, love and everything in-between. From my first love of “The Brothers Lionheart” to my adult love of classics and epic fantasy fables, each beloved story has embedded itself within me and will always be remembered.

It can be hard to put into words why a book is especially loved – and even harder if it has been many years since you last held it in your hands. I would not be able to coherently review most of the books that I love, but nonetheless, I would love to share them with the world.

As frightening as the prospect of sharing that love with others – and potentially not have them love it as much as you do – is, if there is one thing I have learned from all the stories, it is that we must be brave! So, every once in awhile, I will share with you one of my beloved books. The ones that have touched me for one reason or another and remain with me always. No reviews or critique, just pure book love in the hope of perhaps helping someone find a new piece of their book soul.

  1. So true Camilla, you really have to be brave when you put your words out to the world. I look forward to reading your lovely book posts, and hopefully I can discover some new books to add to my shelf. 🙂

    • Thanks so much, Joy! I’m glad you agree and I really do hope you’ll find some inspiration in my most loved books 🙂
